So I don’t really intend to win but I thought to post my list so the people that are competing can take a look and laugh.
Since I am investigating missions and basically have the opinion that the focal point like missions are more “killy” and the objective missions are more “mission”-like. that is that in the Killy missions there tend to be more bloody and while the mission like missions more often involve sacrificing your units to secure a win. Mike at OB gracefully gave me the results and I thought to give it the same run-through I have done on the latest Swedish tournaments. But this time i have 24 players so a better compilation of data.
Due to being away on vacation I have not the possibility to proofread this. I hope for your understanding.
So this weekend we are going for another little 1500pts tournament. Only 6 players but that means all will get 5 games in and as we are a small pool of players in Sweden it really doesn’t matter that the swiss system is not.
I will take notes of the results and continue my little data collection of KP from the winner and the looser from each game to see which missions awards what kind of points. The intent is to build up some data for tournament organizers round the world to make solid choices on what kind of missions they want to have and when in the swiss. But until then I thought to give you the missions and my list I intend to play with.
So after the Swedish championship have been over for two weeks it is now time to consider what have happened. Just random talks of the weekend and of what we did.
With 8 participants for the tournament I later decided that it would be more fun if both me and Simon to play in the tournament. But the first day was a set-up day. The second and third day however. Had Sweden’s largest tournament to date. 10 players. That is the number of participants Sweden’s largest tournament.
Screw you! We are like 50 people living in Sweden so 10 are freaking a lot! 🙂
But here is my experience from the Swedish champ.
Last Saturday we had a one day 1500pts tournament in Gothenburg. It was held by Jens and as one who won’t let the opportunity to play in a tournament that I don’t hold myself away me, Stefan and Björn attended. Scourge (best list “evaaa”), Resistance (what do you know – a Thunderstorm!?) and Scourge (descent lista actually). It also was part of an ongoing start-up campaign so the opponents in all three games had already been set.
This is my short report.
So I’m back after my third Invasion and as like the two other times it was great fun and five good intense battles with 5 nice opponents. My personal goal this time was to have three wins and make it to the upper half. First time I had three losses and two wins and second time one loss, two draws and two wins but I have always make it to the upper half. Last time I played Feral Resistance but now I was back with the Allies…
Time for the after action report of Winter Invasion 2016. It was a blast! I am starting to feel at home in Croydon. I also guess this mean I am part time Londoner. I sleep in english hotels, shower in english showers, use english toilets and drink american beer at english pubs while eating home-made burgers and socialising with the DzC elite (read OB). If this goes on I need to get myself a post box. Egge has already gone through the opening excitement as the venue was closed up when we arrived after having an english breakfast. I will share with you my first sight as I walked through the doors.
So Invasion is over yet another time. A great experience and we Swedes felt we reached most goals we wanted. As always we flew from Copenhagen to London Gatwick and then a direct train to East Croydon station. A five minutes walk later we were at the hotel Jury’s inn and went out to eat. Beers were few to stay focused for the Saturday.
On the Saturday we went to the Conference hall to eat our standard breakfast just besides the hall. I saw the Hawk Wargames team just arriving and waved happily. They looked down and quickly entered. We swedes are really popular it seems…:-)
This time around I will give you some impressions of the event. Try to map the costs for us Swedes and give one short versions of the first battle in the tournament. The second part will be just the battle reports with more focus on my last game which was…well… KICK-ASS EXCITING! I will also write about the new units but it will be more of my impressions and not just the rules (you can get that information here.
