Dropfleet Commander finally arrived in Gothenburg. I and a friend, Westman, decided to play a game to try out the rules and get a feeling for the game. We decided on 600 pts and that we would play the introductory scenario Expeditionary Raid.
+++ Operational Parameters +++
Expeditionary Raid to secure industrial and military sectors on Eden VII in Grid 067829 aka. The Paradise’s Outback. Naval Intelligence report minor Scourge activity in the surroundings. Scans of the target area show no active Orbital Defence Emplacements. Recommended approach is a Lightning Strike to secure essential infrastructure and operational military assets. Caution is advised. Navigational hazards are present, remnants from the initial stages of the Reconquest is still in orbit over the target area.
+++ Expected Losses +++
Naval Assets: Minimum
Ground Assets: Minimum
The funniest thing happened. Egge was writing about rule changes and unit changes and the very next moment the changes from Hawk were announced. Since I have been dormant for awhile on the blog I thought it was a good time to try and get back up on the horse. The little funny Shaltari dudes got a really interesting rule. What little funny Shaltari dudes am I talking about? These dudes.
Time for the after action report of Winter Invasion 2016. It was a blast! I am starting to feel at home in Croydon. I also guess this mean I am part time Londoner. I sleep in english hotels, shower in english showers, use english toilets and drink american beer at english pubs while eating home-made burgers and socialising with the DzC elite (read OB). If this goes on I need to get myself a post box. Egge has already gone through the opening excitement as the venue was closed up when we arrived after having an english breakfast. I will share with you my first sight as I walked through the doors.

For a third time Swedes will travel across the narrow sea onto the land called England. We will make camp in Croydon and explore miniature wargames at a local establishment. Expectations are high and I have been more anxious than ever about the list I should bring. Fortunately there is a proverb to help: Third time’s a charm! I guess that mean I will win Invasion this year. Well to be a bit more modest I hope to defend my placement from last year and the autumn Invasion 2015. I therefore will strive to place better than 19th or rather score more than 56 points which was better than 49 points in February last year. So what do I bring to achieve this goal? As always I truly enjoyed Team Ob’s latest podcast. I listened to it in the car home from a weekend with my wife in Göteborg. It was very interesting pod, I thought. My wife…didn’t think so so much.But I was driving. So I decide on what we listened to.
Either way…One of the interesting points OB pointed out was that Shaltari might be out of the game for the moment. Perhaps Hawk went a little to far on their nerfs? Perhaps I screamed to much?
Nah…I can’t scream and whine to much. They must be wrong, right?
The final game awaited. Invasion had almost ended. The game awaiting me would be a fantastic one, full of surprises and unlikely events. After going through the fifth game I will share a few of my reflections of the event itself.
I will also take the opportunity to apologise for not posting this post last week as intended. But life got in the way. Enough of that, lets get to it. Continue reading Post ID 4858
This is Anjo’s second Let’s Paint where he shows off how he painted my Ramses. This paint job have been committed to Hawk Wargames painting competition during October.
Hi again! Time for another post! This time I will show how I painted Jens Ramses. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of each step this time, since I wanted to give it back to Jens as fast as I could so I got a bit distracted by that. Will try better next time!

Two and a half week ago since Invasion. An incredible event with lots of fun, food and beer. As you already may have read we did quite well in Team Sweden. Personally it went really good and I improved both in position and most importantly in points. I intended to do a more detailed AAR but realised already during Invasion that I have trouble remembering the games. I blame the concentration and fun. Therefore this will most likely be short and hopefully I can remember some details about each game

So I got a Ramses at Invasion, one and a half week ago. I decided I could not do the model justice myself so I asked a friend to help me out. Anjo did a beatiful job. I wanted something that struck the eye and the rainbow colored head-shield really does that. Anjo will have a blog post put out soon, keep an eye out! I just want to put in a disclaimer here, I did not paint Ramses, Anjo did all credit to him.
